Mission Statement:

Disabled American Veterans is an organization of disabled veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and their families. We are dedicated to a single purpose, empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. The organization accomplishes this goal by providing free assistance to veterans in obtaining benefits and services earned through their military service. It is fully funded through its membership dues and public contributions. It is not a government agency and receives no government funds. All workers are volunteers, both in the office and our van drivers.
Our purpose:

1. Provide Public awareness for Veteran needs through various outreach programs.
2. Provide two Arkansas Tech scholarships awarded each year to a Veteran or a child/grandchild of a Veteran.
3. Provide assistance with filing claims for disabilities and helping with VA issues.
            a. Chapter Hours:
            1) Monday; Tuesday; Thursday; Friday (9 am–12 pm)
            2) Wednesday (10–12 pm)
4. Provide financial assistance to include:
            a. Deposits for rent and utilities
            b. Vehicle Repairs
            c. Assistance with heating, electrical, water, and rent payments.
            d. Provide credit cards for groceries and fuel for vehicles.
            e. Provide motel rooms for the homeless, along with meals.
            f. Assist with minor home repairs.
5. Van service provided to the VA Clinic in Little Rock and/or North Little Rock.
            a. Five days of the week.
            b. Van stops:
            1) Russellville
            2) Atkins
                  3) Morrilton
            4) Conway
            5) If requested will stop at: Blackwell, Mayflower & Morgan
6. We provide emergency alert life lines to Veterans.
            a. Enables the veteran to stay in their home longer.
7. We provide free phones to Veterans for a 30 day period for finding work.
8. Organizations we work with:
            a. Help Network
            b. Russ Bus
            c. Salvation Army
            d. Main Street Mission
            e. Local law enforcement
9. We work with veterans and their families only. So we encourage organizations to contact us when they have veterans.
10. Provide gifts to veterans at Christmas time in Nursing homes.
11. We set up at various community functions and business to raise funds in support of our programs and for community awareness.
12. We currently provide service on a regular bases to three counties: Pope, Johnson & Yell.
13. We assist any veteran in need that travels through our area.
14. Executive approves all expenditures over $100.00.
15. Provide annual financial reporting to state, national and IRS.
16. Subject to the audits by the state and national DAV


1. Provide training for more Chapter Service Officers to better assist veterans and provide an increase in office hours.
2. Secure funding for the purchase of a new van. ($35,000.00)
3. As our Chapter grows we will be required to purchase a larger building. ($250,000)
4. Sufficient funding to care for all veterans, so we don’t have to turn any away. ($20,000/year)
5. Continue to be a valuable part of the community by being a member of:
            a. Chamber of Commerce
            b. VA/Clergy group
            c. State Veterans Coalition
            d. Russellville Veterans Coalition
            e. Veterans group at Arkansas Tech
            f. Ministerial Group
            g. On the radio every Friday
            h. ROTC consultant
            i. Service Clubs
